  • Ajaccio, across the Golf of Ajaccio After passing the Bocca di Travu (some sheds there) you will once again enter a forest. First a little climb, but then you will begin a long and steep descend with lots of rocks. After about one hour, one of the other famous Corsica hikes, the Mare e Monti Sud, joins the path. Eventually you'll reach a main road, at the Bocca di U Grecu. From there you go to the right and follow this road for about 2,5 kilometers. Be careful, the cars will be traveling by pretty fast.

The final climb of the seventh stage In one of the bends to the right, you leave the road and follow a small path. Here you can pick up the markings again. The path will first make a little climb, but then you'll start on the final part of the stage and of the whole hike, down through forests and open areas.

The last chance to get a good view of Ajaccio from the mountains Just before you start your final descent, you'll have an opportunity to have a last view at the sea and Ajaccio.

The end point of the Mare a Mare Centre, near Porticcio The Mare a Mare Centre has its official end when you come out of the forest near the large cemetery of Porticcio. Here, you'll find the official panel. From this point it's is still a good 40 minutes on foot to the beach. It takes some getting used to, walking on solid roads through an area full of buildings, abandoned tennis courts and lots of cars.
