Mare a Mare Centre - Stage 4 (a)

Leaving Sampolo it's another short path through forest and fields to reach the next village, Giovicacce. Just before entering the village itself you'll find a bench, shaded by trees. This would be a great spot to have lunch.

From there, you continue your route, climbing for about an hour towards Tasso. There is a gite in Tasso, but when we passed by in June of 2003, there was nobody around and all the windows and doors were shut tight. Then you go through another stretch of forest in the direction of the day's destination, Guitera les Bains.

Pay close attention to the markings during the final half hour, because the route has been changed a bit since the map was last updated.

In Guitera les Bains you'll have to look for the gite, which is next to a bridge over a small stream, and near the church. The gite owner, monsieur Lanfranchi, is a very friendly man and a wonderful cook!

When we stayed in the gite in Guitera les Bains in 2003, we paid € 29 per person for the stay, dinner and breakfast, plus € 6 for a lunch pack for the next day.
