Mare a Mare Centre - Stage 4 (a)

The fourth stage of the Mare a Mare Centre begins at the south western side of the village of Cozzano. You start with a descending path.
There is an alternative route to Guitera les Bains, which runs a little more to the south and passes throug Zicavo and Bains de Guitera.

After about an hour you reach a bridge over the river Taravo, Ponte di U Pinu. The Taravo river is still quite small here, but it runs in south easterly direction towards the coast and becomes a large river. Having crossed the bridge, you start to climb towards a small village, Sampolo.

There isn't a lot to do in Sampolo, but there is a little bar where you can buy a nice cup of coffee or some other refreshment. When we came by, the owner was already waiting for us, as he probably does every day and has been doing for years.
